Russ G Jan 19 I can't dislike anything with the lovely and charming Kay Francis in it. This pre-code 62 minute quickie is all about marital infidelity with a twist - Miss Francis is the hard-driven career woman whose playboy husband has made her a polo widow. Scenes set in upscale nightspots and resorts gave the Depression Era audience a glimpse at how the Other Half lives. Escapism sells! See more Steve D 03/01/2024 Thin but cute because of Francis. See more 10/14/2014 good pre-code chick flick See more 06/10/2014 It's uncannily like an earlier, straight version of Trouble in Paradise (with Kay Francis in the same role), though the sexual role reversal here is the main thing. Female executive (married to a man who doesn't work--because he's rich) + (unmarried but engaged) male secretary. (So, does Trouble in Paradise, does Lubitsch, then, rip-off or perfect Man Wanted? How appropriate that the former is about sophisticated thieves/con artists!) See more 02/08/2014 Scintillating sophisticated pre-code with Kay Francis as a modern day workaholic businesswoman who hires a male secretary (David Manners). See more 01/14/2014 Despite Kay and Una Merkel plus some racy pre code content this is a mess of a movie. Some of the dialogue is cringe worthy. See more Read all reviews
