Martin Tsai Los Angeles Times It pales in comparison to the recent epic saga tweeted by Aziah King about two strippers' unapologetic road trip from Detroit to Tampa, Fla., that went viral on the Internet. Dec 10, 2015 Full Review Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter Despite its non-exploitative approach to its subject, the film... is too schematic and obvious to have the desired impact. Dec 9, 2015 Full Review Katie Walsh Tribune News Service Biel turns in a fine performance as the unlikely violent hero, but Mamet excels in a role far different than her Shoshanna on HBO's Girls. Dec 9, 2015 Full Review Nikki Baughan AWFJ.org Featuring two strong central performances from Biel and Mamet, Bell mines the depths of sibling relationships to present a taught, well-observed dramatic thriller that makes the most of the talent involved. Sep 29, 2021 Full Review John Fink The Film Stage Bleeding Heart takes subject matter deserving of mature, thoughtful treatment and distorts reality into a series of soap opera clichs. Claudio C Bleeding Heart (2015) Although the Good Cast, the Plot Does not Make any Sense (11,716 –25 May 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) The peaceful May (Jessica Biel) and her Afro-American boyfriend Dex (Edi Gathegi) are yoga instructors that live together and have their own academy. When a private eye discovers the whereabouts of May’s half-sister Shiva (Zosia Mamet), she schedules a meeting with Shiva in a bar. May learns that Shiva is ten years younger than she, works as masseuse and their mother Susan died when she was a girl. Therefore, Shiva was raised in foster houses while May was adopted and raised by a wealthy family. She also meets Shiva’s boyfriend Cody (Joe Anderson) and they schedule to see each other again. Soon they create a bond, and May learns that Shiva is a sex worker, and Cody is her violent pimp. The discovery of her half-sister changes May’s life, affecting her relationship with Dex and her mother Martha (Kate Burton). “Bleeding Heart” (2015) is a dramatic movie by Diane Bell and with the lovely Jessica Biel that does not work. Although the good cast, the plot does not make any sense since there is no previous development of May. Why is she so need to know her half-sister, having a good work, a good boyfriend and a good family? Further, her Shiva is a prostitute that accepts the life she lives with Cody. Last but not the least, May preaches non-violence. Therefore, the movie is totally incoherent. The good thing is the performance of Jessica Biel, who is a great and versatile actress. My vote is five. Title (Brazil): “Coração Sangrento” (“Bleeding Heart”) My Blog: https://maniacosporfilme.wordpress.com/ Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/26/25 Full Review KB B I thought it was a pretty entertaining film with decent acting and storyline but the ending was over the top to say the least. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/21/24 Full Review Audience Member Very Unrealistic. You are going to dump your whole life and ruin it for a sister you just met. Yeah okay... Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/11/20 Full Review Audience Member A really great movie. I can’t understand the low rating for this movie. An extremely relevant movie in these times. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/06/18 Full Review Audience Member Fire! Simple story, simple ending, simple everything... but flowed so perfectly Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A fairly deep storyline with a dark atmosphere throughout, but has very little interest value.
