The mundane life of Iravati -- a 29-year-old housewife living in Nanded -- is thrown into mild disarray when she is asked to look after her pregnant sister, Riya, in Hyderabad after complications arise. Triumphing over her irrational fear of traveling alone, she takes on the role of her guardian and caretaker while her brother-in-law, Abhiram, is away for work. Unbeknownst to her, the journey is just the first of many, and there is no smooth sailing. A childhood incident triggers panic attacks and she (literally) latches on to the closest kind stranger; albeit one, who battles demons of his own. Preetam, a seemingly ordinary banker, fosters crippling depression and is haunted by his past. They find solace with each other and forge an unlikely friendship traversing many conversations and a physical as well as metaphorical series of journeys that lead to emotional evolution. They inadvertently give each other the will to truly live. But Preetam harbors a devastating secret that might destroy their relationship and threaten to dismantle everything they believe in if unraveled.

Christopher Machell CineVue The blandness of the spouses remain but with little dimension, while the leads’ likeability is so doe-eyed and soft-edged as to require regular injections of rote narrative contrivance in place of genuine emotional conflict. In a word: soothing. Jun 23, 2023 Full Review Michael Talbot-Haynes Film Threat What enriches this film’s frothy concoction is its strong intellectual underpinnings. The questions raised about how social media has increased public persona versus private interactions carry a lot of weight. Metro may not be the best film you'll see in 2023, it's a beautiful film that left me contemplating its messages and meditating upon its wisdom. Rated: 3.5/4.0 Jun 7, 2023 Full Review Prathyush Parasuraman Film Companion Gulzar’s poetry, which in most minds is an ideal, almost a benchmark, beyond criticism — often beyond clarity — here, comes like suffocating arabesques, pretty sounds, empty words, tired circumstances.
