Audience Member No redeeming value. Premise is thin. Script is poorly written and executed. TERRIBLE acting. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/24/21 Full Review Audience Member Although it has all the appearance of a low budget film, it presented a solid story of science and spirituality. It needs editing, as the run time was too long. It had surprisingly decent script and character builds. It won't get more than a couple stars by the critics. Was it worth watching? Yes, the plot and all aspects were good, so despite slow times, it kept my focus. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member The acting is bad, and the story loses any semblance of true sophistication because of it. The trite characterizations of the two assistant doctors, who are essentially racist charicatures with no true development, the Intro-to-Philosophy concept, the fact that the story is only driven by exposition and very little action all culminate into a drab waste of resources. Until it gets some more reputable writers and actors, I'd stay away from Hulu's original movies if they are anything like this trainwreck. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Oh man this was bad. Its a christian view of science trying to garner appeal from a scifi community and its just garbage. Actors trying to make do without actually knowing what the special effects were going to be, then the effects themselves were self conflicting. just dont. Accept my suffering on your behalf. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Beginning with a sensitive glimpse at the human-animal bond and ending on a note of social idealism, 96 Souls gets lost in the middle with an overload of sci-fi-inflected incident and info. May 26, 2017 Full Review Luke Y. Thompson Village Voice All the trappings of no-budget filmmaking are present here, from the too-long running time (ten minutes shy of two hours) to the spotlessly clean, off-the-rack costumes worn by amateurish actors in impeccable settings. May 25, 2017 Full Review Joe Leydon Variety A scientist gains the power to read minds, but doesn't do anything terribly interesting with his new ability. May 25, 2017 Full Review Nathanael Hood Audiences Everywhere Worst of all, it's boring. And that's the kiss of death for a film about super-powers. Rated: D Dec 27, 2018 Full Review Sean Mulvihill FanboyNation.com There's just no momentum to its story to propel these characters forward and the lacking tension really takes its toll over the film's two hours. Rated: 2/5 Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue It might someday achieve cult-favorite status among so-bad-it's-good aficionados. May 26, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews
