Audience Member Now Blobbo covered with soapy film. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Good movie. It addresses the issue of pseudo-men, self-sufficient because of their own social hierarchy, who commit crimes of sexual abuse and are never held accountable. On the other hand, it shows the psychopathy of a woman who, even though she knows that she confesses to being on the wrong side of virtue, will not recriminate herself enough to find the strength to overcome her addiction. It is a faithful picture of the biblical passage of Mary Magdalene. "Where are your accusers?" "It's up to the movie buff to believe in a redemption, like The Wind Took." Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Suzanne Pleshette is a slut! She can't stop having sex with men. Even though she marries Bradford Dillman, she can't stop herself from sleeping with Ben Gazzara and all hell breaks lose. So much hell that even though she doesn't sleep with Peter Graves, everyone thinks she does and she loses everything. I love melodrama, but there's very little to this adaptation of John O'Hara's novel. It wants to be oh so very adult, but it has to skirt around the material so much that it just ends up seeming coy and silly. Gazzara really goes for broke though ... there's that. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member This is soap opera pure and simple about a woman who in more enlightened times would have been viewed as a person with a crippling disorder that would require treatment but for our purposes here is a wanton slut. Suzanne Pleshette was a superior actress so she is able within the confines of the script to present her character as someone who is ruled by urges she can not control. Good supporting cast including in a small role a rare onscreen role for Brett Somers Klugman from Match Game. For those who enjoy trashy cinema with quality actors enacting silly situations with earnest professionalism. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Joan Didion Vogue Hollywood does not get [A Rage to Live author John] O'Hara's game; either does not get it or makes the shoddy assumption that the audience will not get it. Mar 11, 2020 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com This trashy melodrama, based on John O'Hara novel, who also provided the story for Butterfield 8, is poorly executed and mostly known for its Oscar nomination.
