Audience Member A pretty decent documentary of one of the monuments classics from 1976. I imagine at the time it was great but these days all races can be covered like this. Good overview of some of the 70s biggest cycling names though. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Simplistic but effective documentary making. Cover the 1976 Paris - Roubaix, speak to nearly everyone involved and let the 'Hell of the North' basically speak for itself. Worth watching if only for the chance to see cyclists like Merckx perform. Plus some of those retro jerseys are just fantastic. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Some interesting footage for historical reasons, but it's not a documentary that really stands the test of time. There's no real insight into the competitors, and the voiceover is limited in scope. The race itself is a bit hard to follow as well. Probably only really for real cycling nuts. I'd only heard of Merckx, so the rest of the riders were a jumble to me. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Melancholic rather than exciting, but enjoyable anyway. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member While this is a classic cycling film, it did take me 4 nights to finish it because I kept falling asleep. It's very worthy to watch the historic Eddie Merckx and the Paris-Roubaux race from the late '60s, just make sure you double-up on the caffeine.
