Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times With simple storytelling, the film allows its star, Velasquez, to shine, and with her endless reserves of positive energy, eloquent speaking and willingness to be vulnerable, it's no wonder millions of people have already found her inspirational. Sep 27, 2015 Full Review Kimber Myers The Playlist "A Beautiful Heart" isn't ambitious in its style or structure, but it is entirely effective at communicating its encouraging message to the audience. Rated: B Sep 25, 2015 Full Review Christy Lemire RogerEbert.com Her story would be inspiring in and of itself, but Velasquez is such an effervescent, charismatic subject, she can't help but win your affection as well as your respect. Rated: 3/4 Sep 25, 2015 Full Review David Bax Battleship Pretension What an inspiring woman. What a beautiful woman. Jan 15, 2021 Full Review Drew McWeeny HitFix ... it's a very direct film, a lovely portrait of family and strength and just how far one voice can carry, especially when amplified in the right ways. Rated: A Sep 28, 2015 Full Review Matt Shiverdecker Austin American-Statesman A Brave Heart is a powerful portrait of one of the most determined and authentic people you'll ever encounter. Evahlynn J I love lizzie and her story a lot I to be fair I Absolutely loved this movie and you have got to see it lizzie deserves better and I subscribe and followed her everywhere and talk back to them rude comments I watched this about 5 times and lizzie velasquez we love you so much I cried❤️❤️ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/07/24 Full Review Audience Member A Brave Heart The Lizzie Velasquez Story (2015) A film that helps you understand disabilities, bullying and sympathies with being defined as different. I felt like the film could have ended a little sooner. I did not feel like it accomplished anything by showing Lizzie still trying to get a bill for anti bullying to be accomplished it is still had not passed. I felt like the things in the rest of the film told more than that last bit towards the end of the documentary. I did think the ending was a bit weak ending because it was presenting an incomplete story. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/30/20 Full Review Audience Member I can describe with one word how I felt after watching this real-life woman and her real-life story: WOW!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Lizzie’s positivity is amazing. I don’t think I could be as strong as she is. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/12/18 Full Review Audience Member This movie is decent enough. I do feel bad for her situation, but seeing how she took control of her life will inspire pretty much everyone to want to live their lives with similar purpose. Bullying is a tough topic to handle, but perhaps we can crack the code on that someday. Worth watching, but not always easy to watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Lizzie is an amazing young woman. She inspires everyone who ever had a doubt about themselves. We need more people like Lizzie Velasquez in this world. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews
