It’s a delicious set up and a wonderful tale, superbly told, of unfolding mystery involving bored suburbanites whose search for excitement leads them down risky paths. Go to Full Review
Vinson Cunningham The New Yorker Mar 20
A strange, surreal, surpassingly dark addition to Bateman’s œuvre. He’s cast well in the show -- I can’t imagine it working without his presence, reeking of ennui and buried impulses. Go to Full Review
John Anderson Wall Street Journal Mar 5
Mr. Bateman is always a supremely watchable actor, but if there’s a standout in this exceptional cast it’s Mr. Harbour, who has sort of gone “Raging Bull” for his role as Floyd. Go to Full Review

...the series mostly takes place in the suburbs of St. Louis. This reinforces this idea that the suburbs aren't necessarily this safe and wholesome place where nothing bad, or weird, or even sexually adventurous happens. Go to Full Review

...as fiction, it rises above the rest, conceived as a simple yet highly effective device. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

The show pokes at an uncomfortable cultural reality: the way our society often frames male libido as something urgent, unavoidable, biological in its authority. Men must pursue. Men must conquer. Men must be sexually validated at all times. Go to Full Review

Donna S @RT70760842 2h Awesome Neo noir…totally wrong to classify it as a comedy or dark comedy which it isn’t. It’s in the category of "Body Heat" or "The Last Seduction." See more Davian W. @RT49628499 4h Awesome mini series! See more Joseph B @FutureExMrsMalcolm 8h Slow. Boring. Depressing. "Twist"ending was tired See more Andrei D @RT74856639 15h It's ultimately a little shallow and cannot break out of the police investigation framing, but every leading actor works very hard to infuse it with soul and there are some incredibly emotional moments See more Sea L @Sealily 22h It's been a long time since I watched a series that stuck in my mind after watching it like this one did. It's a beautiful story of true love between friends, expectations and betrayal whilst at the same time being a gripping thriller. With interesting characters developing as the story continues. As a broad minded western European I'm not easily shocked by love between the same sex but for some reason this was intensely uncomfortable to watch at times which surprised and intrigued me. If there's one thing that was less interesting it was the conclusion which was not surprising to me at all. But it's still a very well worth watch! See more Estelle S @Draupadi 1d This show was a work of art. 🌈💖🌈 The subject matter of big love was portrayed so rawly & purely, it made my heart hurt. David Harbour was beyond excellent in the heartfelt honesty of his performance. And Jason Bateman. now, one of my favorite actors, due to his ability to bring happiness & love to his audience, well…. his performance leaves me speechless…. It was so pure and raw, and I could tell that in order to do this part, he really dug inside himself, & peeled away so many layers of ego….like ‘he’ didn’t matter anymore, all that mattered was the heart he was determined to be laid bare. And so it was for ALL the actors. Their hearts were one heart.….my own 💖swells, just thinking about it. I thank all those involved in this production, with every fiber of my being, for the privilege of being able to witness it, especially during these dark times. 🙏🏼💙🗽🇺🇸🐸💖🐸🇺🇸🗽💙🙏🏼 See more Read all reviews
