A strange, surreal, surpassingly dark addition to Bateman’s œuvre. He’s cast well in the show -- I can’t imagine it working without his presence, reeking of ennui and buried impulses. Go to Full Review

Mr. Bateman is always a supremely watchable actor, but if there’s a standout in this exceptional cast it’s Mr. Harbour, who has sort of gone “Raging Bull” for his role as Floyd. Go to Full Review

It takes a little patience to settle in with it, but then it’s easy to get wrapped up in its oddball story. Go to Full Review

The show pokes at an uncomfortable cultural reality: the way our society often frames male libido as something urgent, unavoidable, biological in its authority. Men must pursue. Men must conquer. Men must be sexually validated at all times. Go to Full Review

Viewers will have to pay attention to this entertainingly oddball series that cuts a path between comedy and tragedy and leaves a lot unsaid, compelling watchers to fill in the gaps. Go to Full Review

If you allow yourself to succumb to the ironic slow burn, it is deliciously unsettling -- a reminder that nothing is weirder or scarier than what passes for everyday normality. Go to Full Review

Sam P @RT59792805 2d Three episodes in, and it’s becoming clear to me that not only is this story not just "about married couples in the suburbs, exploring a dating app", or simply a murder mystery. This, like all great dramatic writing in the history of humankind is a deep study of human nature. And as we observe, and react to one revelation after another about these characters, we too are part of that study. With all of our biases, prejudices, judgments, and knee jerk reactions on full display. In my opinion, our modern society, particularly in the United States doesn’t know what to do with a kind, caring soul like Floyd. Unencumbered by any perceived need to measure up to society’s definition of a "real man", he is free to be simply and beautifully human. Remaining episodes may, of course change my understanding. But i’m thoroughly enjoying watching our hero ‘plumb’ our dark recesses :) See more James I @RT22555075 2d As reluctant as I was to commit to this series (I get a little tired of Bateman being Bateman), I was completely sucked in by David Harbour and Linda Cardellini. And, dare I admit it, Bateman is pretty great in this series. The storyline is so interesting and new that I'm mesmerized and can't wait for the next installment. I can't forget to mention Richard Jenkins and Arlan Ruf that plays the stepson... standouts in their respective rolls. Now let's talk Joy Sunday as the local detective... her ability to depict her character's 'thinking, evaluating mind is a brilliant exercise in restraint and control in the face of the ultra-male domination of Jenkins character, to the point that Jenkins looks a little bumbling and incompetent. I love that about this show. One 'slow blink or turn of the head, and she controls the whole investigation. See more Denise H @Dnh00 3d This show is unwatchable. I LOVE all the main actors in everything they've ever done, but I guess this show must be entertaining for a very small sliver of the population, like married people who fantasize about cheating or something? It's so slow, the writing is boring, acting is underwhelming. I've tried to rewatch a few times now, and it's just SO boring. I give up. See more Joshua C. @VeinNoir 3d Good show i like it. The bald female cop is super passive aggressive to the point id just say shes a B. No wonder the step brothers dad detective doesn't let you do anything See more L B @RT88009562 4d Love it!! So perversely funny. The acting is great with so many low key funny moments. It’s keeping me guessing!! See more robert R @RT45033551 4d it combines such wonderful performances with a really quirky plot line that keeps one on their toes waiting for the next episode. Bateman is always good- Harbour deserves a nomination for portraying his unique character's humanity. See more Read all reviews
