Beef pairs its second season with winning performers and a crackling sense of ingenuity in a saga that Lee Sung Jin perfectly anchors through his mastery of class satire and the unexpected modes of human nature.

Chris Vognar Boston Globe May 13
The performances are all killer -- Mulligan, in particular, has never been better -- and while the personnel has changed, creator Lee Sung Jin’s authorial voice remains wickedly smart. Go to Full Review
Melanie McFarland Salon.com May 6
If “Beef” were solely about the corrosiveness of rage, this season’s rivalry wouldn’t be worth slicing into. But Lee marbles other theories and indictments into his meat concerning the privilege of extreme emotion and behavioral honesty. Go to Full Review
Nicholas Harris New Statesman May 6
This could all get a bit relentless and wearing, but fortunately the quality of the writing carries it as satire and not as nihilism. Go to Full Review

More than well-done, Netflix’s dramedy is a rare treat. Go to Full Review

I can see why such a cast would take on this project, but I didn’t think the story-telling to be nearly as strong as the first, and ultimately, the last chapters, while creatively disastrous, are hard to connect with. Go to Full Review

Exceptionally clever, involving, and hard to predict exactly where any of it will end up. Go to Full Review

Alby J @Alby99 17h I think the worst part about this show though is that every single person on this show is either an idiot, a piece of shit, or both. Genuinely have no idea who I am supposed to care about. See more Meg R @Megatron666 3d Literally so good I binged the whole thing in a day, which is so rare for me!! Charles Melton deserves all the awards (and is so cute) need so many more seasons See more Brittany Z @zimmeronlow Jun 15 Lee Sung Jin is firing on all cylinders this season. The writing and directing are just as just as punchy and smart as season 1 with even more diabolical chaos. Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan shine with undeniable chemistry as a couple struggling to work through the throws of life together. Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny dazzle as young love clouds their hopes and dreams. A beautiful portrait on the cycles of love and relationships and the decisions we make to break free from these cycles. See more Kay B @MagicKay Jun 14 Few notches down from S1 but still interesting enough for me to finish it. See more Emma G @rottenem Jun 14 Adored, the characters were so beautiful, simple and complex all at once. An intimate and funny portrayal of relationships in every stage, through the darkness and the light. The last ep honestly left me muddled a bit with its change up in tone and direction but overall such a stunning series. Highly recommend See more Peyton E @Thinktink2001 Jun 12 Such an amazing show, I was on the edge of my seat the entire season! One of Oscar Isaac’s best performances to date, this is a must watch!
