It's all good fun, even when it scores some serious points and has some serious scenes about death and dementia and loneliness. The cast is more than up to it all, and there are younger cast members contributing, too. Go to Full Review

It’s been called ‘Stranger Things’ for seniors, but it’s so much more as Geena Davis and Alfred Molina lead a cast of A-listers as retirees who take on aliens, aging and a society that sees them as invisible. Go to Full Review

The Boroughs makes literal the fears we all have about obsolescence and the end of life – that we’ll all be shunted and hidden away in a special place when we’re no longer of any use, just waiting to die. Go to Full Review

Nostalgia shouldn’t be this spoon-fed and narratively sloppy. But, hey, these good actors are getting paychecks. Yay? Go to Full Review

In between the missteps and monsters, The Boroughs is ultimately a heartfelt and charming series that poses a fair few questions about life, ageing and death – and asks just how far you’ll go for the ones you love. Go to Full Review

To say that The Boroughs, as has been said, is a Stranger Things “for adults”...is to oversimplify a show that...nonetheless explores an interesting and practically untouched territory for the contemporary (horror) genre. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Ale F @RT21213957 15h A real disappointment. The talented "older" cast deserves far better than this. Giving space to actors beyond the usual age range is great in principle, but here they are wasted on dreadful dialogue, lazy jokes, a predictable plot, childish situations, and logic gaps everywhere. Worst of all, the characters are constantly infantilised. Making them act like teenagers does not make them "cool"; it makes them look foolish and completely unrelatable. Instead of celebrating actors (or characters) of this age, the show ends up undermining them. This is not some geriatric Stranger Things — it is just a low-quality attempt to trade on the names of the same producers. See more Mikio M @MikioMurakami 1d This one surprised me. I went in knowing almost nothing and ended up watching the whole thing really fast. Cool mystery, fun cast and it keeps adding little questions that made me want to keep going. It doesnt answer everything but thats ok, now I just want season 2. See more Stella K @RT79991400 1d Really enjoyed the ensemble performance and especially loved the nostalgia x Sci fi x comedy x romance x drama like only the duffer bros can can do. Stranger things grown up, I really wish we’ll get more seasons. Netflix dropped the ball when not renewing See more Mark B @RT22564052 2d The Boroughs started off well and stayed watchable for about three quarters of the episodes. Then at somewhere about episode 7 things started to go downhill. It started to have many of the same, stale sci fi tropes that I've been watching for the last 50 years. Schmaltzy and overly sentimental. It became so predictable that I could figure out how it was going to end, kind of like a boss battle in a bad video game. See more Bernardo F @RT16745053 2d Amazing tv show!! I really enjoyed it. Seen a group of old people joining up together to discover a mystery was really awesome. I really appreciated the hole history of the show and the video effects. If you are a fan of science, sci-fi or strangers things you will really enjoy this one!! Hurry up the monster is next to you, you just need to find who really is the monster. See more Paul M @PabloHoney555 3d It started as intriguing but then became a bit of well shot B movie with nice characters and better production budget. But too many story holes, too many obvious character and script choices, too much ignoring of its rules. I was dissapointed. A B movie with a bigger budget. See more Read all reviews
