An American adaptation of the Israeli show of the same name, "Euphoria" follows the troubled life of 17-year-old Rue, a drug addict fresh from rehab with no plans to stay clean. Circling in Rue's orbit are Jules, a transgender girl searching for where she belongs; Nate, a jock whose anger issues mask sexual insecurities; Chris, a football star who finds the adjustment from high school to college harder than expected; Cassie, whose sexual history continues to dog her; and Kat, a body-conscious teen exploring her sexuality. As the classmates struggle to make sense of their futures, the series tackles the teenage landscape of substance-enhanced parties and anxiety-ridden day-to-day life with empathy and candor.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Euphoria returns with less than the sum of its parts in a disjointed cavalcade of forced narratives that leave its talented cast stranded in the wind.

Over and over, Levinson squanders opportunities for humanization or interiority in favor of provocation. Go to Full Review

Once a clear expression of teenage angst, “Euphoria” ended a jumbled mishmash that did a lot and said little. Go to Full Review

Levinson has brought this cast, at the height of their fame, back for what feels more like a humiliation ritual than a victory lap. These actors have graduated from Euphoria High, and the thing with school reunions is that no one wants to go to them. Go to Full Review

Euphoria Season 3 seems uninterested in being Euphoria at all. Levinson awkwardly writes a finale that is neither fun nor satisfying. Go to Full Review

‘Euphoria’ remains the ferociously good looking show it was from its first appearance, while Rue and her friends keep their dates with fate in an uneven concluding season Go to Full Review

It’s wild to think that Euphoria started out as a coming of age show about high schoolers, since season three shows us that it’s now about drug mules, aspiring porn stars and cynical young people trying to make their mark in Hollywood. Go to Full Review

Nisa S. @Nisa. 4h Trash season! The director/producers fantasies and fetishes they basically brought to life, just watch porn tbh. The plot was nonexistent until the very last episode. Nothing compared to the last seasons, waste of time. See more Demet G @RT34773626 13h I absolutely loved the 3d season. They have grown up, and it is the adult life now, so the story is different. I thought it was very well written, good fun and had depht. Each to their own, but expecting the story to drag on in high school and stay a teen story would have been weird in my opinion. See more Tigran A @RT74851311 2d Worth watching but honestly, a major downgrade from what it used to be. Even the cinematography didn’t feel the same. The story like was okay, and I really liked the plot twists but I think that the biggest flaw was the music. The music was so different and it didn’t feel like I was watching euphoria. See more Megan C @megvanc 3d Full of propaganda. No continuation of character development. Complete change of characters to continuously send the audience messages of the creator's propaganda. See more Maribel B @RT50822716 3d Production-wise, Euphoria Season 3 is still worth watching. Visually it’s stunning, but it leans into a vintage aesthetic that places us in a completely different universe from Seasons 1 and 2. The only thread connecting this season to the previous ones is the characters themselves, and even then, their arcs feel disconnected from who they once were. While it’s true they couldn’t stay in high school forever, it often feels as though none of them made the decisions these characters would have made four years earlier. Their personalities are reshaped to serve a plot that feels like a pornographic Breaking Bad directed by Tarantino. It’s as if the time jump didn’t just change the characters, it changed the show. Did Sam Levinson get bored with Euphoria and decide to make a different series? You give us porn, gore, and every Mexican border cliché imaginable, only to close with a prayer. Is it a critique of lost values, an invitation to religion, or a recruitment ad for OnlyFans? Who knows. See more Read all reviews
