The stylised visual palette speaks to Maul’s tortured extremes, which is helpful because the writing doesn’t add a great deal to a character who has most often been a menacing adversary. It’s one for the dedicated fans.

Liked the animation, however sometimes it got a little.. idk too low quality. Like I know it's a style but at some points it felt like it worked in the shows disadvantage. Story was interesting and progressed relatively steadily. Only downside was a little too much cutting back and forth. I get it saves on the animation budget and allows for stories to progress simultaneously, but sometimes it would have felt better to just stick with a story through the majority of the current scene rather than bouncing between 2 stories for 5-10 minutes. Characters were all interesting, like the idea of Maul being a morally gray character with more backstory than we see in the movies. Lightsaber fights were really good looking and even the way they fought was unique. It reminded me of The Acolyte, which I enjoyed for its creative fighting scenes.
