Still, it's a charming and entertaining series that delivers exactly what it promises. Show revolves around college romances between hockey frats and the girls on campus without being bro-ey or trashy. Story veered off into directions I wasnt expecting as Justin just disappears completely halfway through. But it ended up better for it. Was cheering for Garratt and Hannah the entire time and loved how the show handled them working through their past traumas. The ending was brilliant too and left me desparate for season 2. See more Jessica O @RT68442908 4d Having read all of Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus books, I was so excited for this adaptation. Unfortunately, it was a huge let-down. I wasn’t expecting a scene-for-scene remake, but the pacing felt rushed, and many key moments were changed unnecessarily. The relationships never had time to develop, so the emotional payoff just wasn’t there. Small changes, like who walked in on Dean and Allie, merging Allie’s café with Malone’s, and altering family backstories, all added up and made the story feel very different. I did enjoy the Drunk Shakespeare scene, even though it wasn’t in the books, because it added something fun rather than replacing an important moment. If I hadn’t read the books, I probably would’ve enjoyed the show more. But as a fan of the novels, it failed to recreate what made them so special. It captured the plot, but not the heart of the books. I wanted that same emotional journey I had while reading, but instead it felt like the show was rushing from one moment to the next.
