The movie had a forced quality about it as it uneasily tried to squeeze a fair amount of proselytizing into bland Christmas movie. The result turned this C- movie into a D- one. As a huge fan of Marc Blucas, I was especially disappointed to see him uncomfortable in his own skin as he attempted to make the movie work. Like to a batch stale Christmas cookies, to this one I'll say, hard pass.

This movie was more like sitting in church for 2 hours. The only difference was there was no collection plate passed around. I'm as religious as the next person but this was over the top. If this is the type of movies she will doing from now on, I won't be watching. I watch movies for entertainment. I can go to church if I want to listen to one scripture after another. Very disappointing.

I guess I would sum up by saying it's boring. I'm sure there's an audience for this and I hope this movie finds it - but the story isn't just slow, it's empty. Hollow. Even the old, dull platitudes seem worse with the plastic delivery. Just seems like a massive waste of time and money.

It was awful! Hard to believe it actually aired. The main character was stunningly and offensively pushy and obnoxious. One would think that she might have taken one of the never-ending hints that she should back off. Certainly we could imagine she always behaved like that and her family was beyond sick of years of this. The "religious" aspects were unbelievable and contrived. Hard pass.

Synopsis

Real Estate Agent Maggie Larson and her family will be spending Christmas with her recently widowed brother, Paul, and his young daughter at their house. Maggie is determined to give her brother and niece the best Christmas possible and to lift their spirits when they most need it. Though Maggie’s plan is to aid her brother, his faith and parenting style ultimately helps her to understand issues within her own life and a need for closeness in her own family.
