Audience Member This is a great movie for children who think that every Christmas movie is set in New York, or at least the US. The thrill of seeing a film set in a small town in N. Ireland made the children in the school film club declare it was the best Christmas film they have ever seen! It has a decent plot and is well acted, the children stealing the show. Lots of Christmas messages and a sprinkling of schmaltz. Sure what more do you want? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member If you equate Christmas with boredom then this movie is for you. If you actually like movies avoid this like the plague. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Loved it! Great to see unknown kids playing most of the main characters... this wasn't a rerun of anything,?in fact it's based on true happenings in the town of GlenArm in Northern Ireland.. I've watched a few times and love it everytime Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Nice Christmas movie with a good story thats worth watching Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a christmas film but nothing more. Tara Brady Irish Times Against all odds, the film, though not short on Yuletide schmaltz, is pretty good, and a huge improvement on such 'family fare' as the dread Nativity franchise. Rated: 3/5 Feb 23, 2016 Full Review Kate Muir Times (UK) This is a children's film made by adults who think they knwo what children want. Rated: 2/5 Nov 12, 2015 Full Review Leslie Felperin Guardian This Northern Ireland-set fable steals adroitly from all kinds of classic Christmas-themed movies - a bit of Miracle on 34th Street, a dash of Nativity!, a big dollop of It's a Wonderful Life, and so on. Rated: 3/5 Nov 12, 2015 Full Review Matthew Bond The Mail on Sunday (UK) With the exception of one or two performances from its junior cast, this is awful, a feeble reworking of Local Hero weighed down with ersatz sentiment, clunking parallels with the Nativity story and a charmless script. Rated: 1/5 Oct 26, 2017 Full Review Grace Montgomery Common Sense Media Star-studded Irish holiday movie is cliched but sweet. Rated: 2/5 Jan 6, 2016 Full Review Grant Rollings The Sun (UK) This Northern Irish family movie is desperately short on original ideas. Rated: 2/5 Dec 4, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews
