Leah Pickett Chicago Reader Set in Scandinavia and featuring a sullen male protagonist, it's violent, hard-boiled, and psychologically disturbing. Its antihero, a clench-jawed police detective, also embodies a belief that individual goodness might be enough to prevail. Jul 28, 2016 Full Review Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times "A Conspiracy of Faith" marks the darkest and most gripping screen adaptation of the Jussi Adler-Olsen novels to date. amy b Great performances all around, but especially from Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Pal Sverre Hagen. Hagen, against type, is convincing as terrifying serial killer. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review Jesper L If you don't compare it at all to the book it's a good film at best. Compared to the book, Carl Mørck looses everything that made him different from every other run at the mill washed up detective. What drives him, is taken from him, his relationship with his ex-wife is just changed to the same lame trope as every other male representative on tv. It doesn't bring anything new, just more of the same that other movies do, it's good what they do, but just the same. TL:DR Fine movie what they do is good, but nothing new and exciting.. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/20/22 Full Review Andrew P A painful movie, but it's beautiful in its pain. In a godless world, you can be a bringer of despair or hope, a killer or a homicide detective. Perhaps, in the wake of a number of mass shootings across the US, we can choose to bring hope instead. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/18/22 Full Review Audience Member This one is indeed the best of the series. A thriller and a mystery (more of the former) juxtaposed brilliantly against both the nihilistic and religious views of life. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Best of the series: Conspiracy of Faith introduces missing children all tied to a small church. It begins with a message in a bottle that was written in blood. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
