Steve D Put together with bits from far better films. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/02/23 Full Review Bernard K I liked it a lot! Lots of Stars in the cast, and they all are individual, and make their point. Neat! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/08/19 Full Review Audience Member Raymond Burr kidnaps a teenage Natalie Wood in the corny but entertaining potboiler. Edmond O'Brien and Brian Donlevy play cops trying to find the missing girl. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member none of the characters in "a cry in the night" have much of a back story, until the very end when they reveal some information about the taggart family. unfortunately, the information revealed is pretty lame. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member "The Collector" may or may not have been influenced by this bleak story of a mentally ill man who, in his desperation for female companionship, abducts a random girl (the lovely Natalie Wood). Raymond Burr expertly tackles the role of the unbalanced kidnapper managing to win the symapthy of his prey (and the viewer). Wood hasn't much to do but act terrified and this she does quite well. Edmond O'Brien as the blow-hard father/cop shines. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Uneven, but still interesting noir crime thriller. It's very much a product of its time, with Edmond O'Brien coming on way too strong as the lead and a script that could use some tighter pacing - especially during some awkward attempts at humor. But the stronger story elements - particularly Raymond Burr's timid, momma's boy psychopath - keep it compelling despite its flaws. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews
