Documentary filmmaker Liam Le Guillou enters the world of witchcraft: and the occult, searching for an answer to the question "is magic real?" Seeking out some of the world's most powerful dark magic practitioners, Le Guillou will ask the unthinkable -- will they put a Curse on him. Meeting with Witches in California, Voodoo practitioners in New Orleans, Tantrics in India, and even a Satanist Shaman in Mexico, the filmmaker exposes himself to some of the world's darkest magic. On his Journey, Le Guillou meets with psychologists, and scientists studying the real world effects of magic and the power of belief. As the consequences of his request begin to hit home, Le Guillou seeks out help from the very witches that warned him of his actions, forcing him to question the nature of reality in this dangerous, never-before-seen, dark social experiment.

“A Cursed Man” doesn’t live up to its promise, mainly because the director’s motivations never feel as authentic as the testimony of his interviewees. Go to Full Review

I applaud the premise behind this movie more than I do the execution, which perhaps needed a different frontman to agitate whatever dark forces may or may not be out there. Go to Full Review

Filmmaker Liam Le Guillou comes off like a cross between Morgan Spurlock and Zak Bagans in this hokey documentary about supposed black magic. Go to Full Review

As the widespread belief in witchcraft and curses exists, there is enough history to accept it as a real phenomenon. Le Guillou’s travel documentary challenging the subject, brings it into the mainstream. Don’t bring your small children to Rwanda. Go to Full Review

Jo L Nov 18 Can't believe I finished this. The premise was so interesting but the execution was so disappointing. See more Panayiotis C Nov 2 What a waste of time See more Alla M Oct 22 I tried to go into this with an open mind and I have the utmost respect for the ancient cultural practices this film depicts. However, absolutely nothing, nothing, about this is scientific. The filmmaker seeks a curse, starts having anxiety, and takes a tumble doing one of the most dangerous sports in existence. There’s zero alternate perspective offered which of course completely negates the entire exercise- something this filmmaker should be actually embarrassed about. He didn’t even do the basic due diligence to offer a true debate. They also site the random number generator project with ZERO alternate perspective. Spoiler- it’s been debunked. Shamefully shoddy film contributing to the already large pile of misinformation in this country. Hats off to his wife whose discomfort practically oozes through the screen. If you watched this and were convinced you need some serious help with your critical thinking skills. See more Joe A Oct 18 I’m not sure how this is rated as high as it is. There is no serious investigation. A lot of this documentary is rubbish. I figured that when it started with a warning that you may get cursed through the screen by mistake, just like when the Blair Witch convinced people it was real found footage. Cheap shot from the get go. Dreams are not proof of a curse. Taking part in dangerous activities and getting injured are not proof of a curse. All this shows to me is lots of people that suffer from Mental Illness… See more Gabriel T @GabrielFagundes Oct 17 Some parts seemed a little bit forced to me, especially when he tries to lure the audience into the curses' effectiveness. But most of it is absolutely incredible with heart-racing moments, mesmerizing shots, his beautiful British accent as the narrator, a cultural experience on screen, different perspectives on the matter, a pinch of doubt on the veracity of the curse... Just amazing See more rgb B Oct 15 100% completely fake. If you watch this and don't see or catch all the trickery involved, then you're the most gullible person on earth. Although the scenes do look kinda cool, like when he's in Mexico and some of the other stuff, but everything about this supposed documentary is completely scripted, fake, and prearranged and it's very obvious. This should almost be labeled a mockumentary, instead. lol. Ultimately, it portrays a guy who essentially "curses" himself through the power of suggestion and nothing more. See more Read all reviews
