Alexandra Heller-Nicholas AWFJ.org A Dark Foe isn't Maria Gabriela Cardenas's masterpiece, but there is evidence here that she has one in her - and for a feature debut film, that's no small thing. Aug 7, 2021 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media A Dark Foe is an extremely graphic tale with a nonsensical and incoherent storyline. It's full of excruciating scenes of melodrama delivered by incompetent actors. Rated: 1/5 Oct 15, 2021 Full Review Andrew Stover Film Inquiry For all of its shortcomings, it's a daunting thriller, capable of blistering tension and startling violence. Aug 15, 2021 Full Review Alan Ng Film Threat I feel like this film is more about the progression or descent into madness than telling a strong, cohesive story. However, the ride itself is enough to give this horror/thriller a chance. Rated: 6.5/10 Aug 10, 2021 Full Review Mark Dujsik Mark Reviews Movies [A]ll of it takes on a sense of all-encompassing incompetence. Rated: 0.5/4 Jul 30, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Martin S Deeply disturbing, twisted and weird !! NOT for the faint of heart !! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/24 Full Review Ted B 3.0 stars. The "Dark" in the title of the movie refers the totally deep dark nature of the antagonist, and the theme of the film. So 'dark' that it is really hard to watch. But, the 'dark' also refers to the.definition (absence of light) and the phobia the protagonist experiences when it is dark. The movie was well done technically, but I think makes a mistake each time it goes for the shock value by crossing the line with ultimate gore. It gives it too much of a 'Drive-In movie' quality. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Without any doubt whatsoever, no hyperbole, this is the worst written, acted, and directed movie I have ever seen. All three things, worst ever. Tough to do. It's like somebody wrote the "story," shot the footage, and edited it, all while tripping hard on acid, completely oblivious to what they were doing. Hard to fathom the director and editor in the same room saying, "Yeah, that's the take we want." With every single second of acting so atrocious, I can't even imagine. I'm dumbfounded something can be this bad, also that there are some veteran actors whose proven skills this movie brings into question, with a couple several second long exceptions by Monte Markham. The blame of how truly terrible this is, however, lies squarely on the shoulders of the woman who "wrote" and "directed" it, who couldn't have made it any more gratuitous, misogynistic, or ineptly maudlin. Somebody gave somebody else money to make this. I guess. Stupefying. 0.000000 stars. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm positive this movie will haunt me for days or even weeks. I am also sure it will keep people debating about for some time to come. For me, it is a well-done film that was emotionally pulverizing for me as viewer as it was for the characters. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Hot garbage. So terrible I stopped watching around 45 minutes in. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member A Dark Foe packs a punch! With every murder more disturbing than the previous one, no one prepared me for the shocking poetic justice at the end. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
