Audience Member This adaptation of Harry Petrakis's book has a remarkable cast . Anthony Quinn plays Matsoukas , Irene Papa the great greek thespian plays his wife Calliiope and the rest of the cast plays a brilliant depiction of blue collar immigrant experience through first gen Greek American lens. The book and film capture the spirit and the tragedy of Greek psyche and the indomitable spirit of the Greek imagination that can transcend all obstacles with the eternal power of hope.
