Megan B 02/15/2024 I liked the meditation on love and life See more Mark H Nov 27 I think you can make the argument that A Ghost Story is as much about life, death, human experience, time and whether there is an afterlife as anything else. It’s certainly not a horror movie, and was never intended to be. It’s a meditation on love, how fleeting and temporary our experiences are, and what it might look like if you couldn’t ever let that go even after you died. This is possibly one of the saddest movies many viewers will ever see. A young couple, very much in love, lose each other due to a car accident. "C" dies, leaving "M" alone in the house they shared. C watches her, tries to touch her and comfort her. But C is no longer part of the physical world. He’s an observer, stuck in that space, for however long it takes for him to move on. M moves away. New people move in. Decades go by. The house decays, and is demolished. A high rise building is erected in that space. C lingers. This is an almost silent film about love, loss, time, and letting go. The first half I thought was slow but I stuck it out .. when it finally resonated with me and I figured out the meaning and direction it was going I literally fell apart and just lost it . If you have ever lost a loved one at an early age you will understand this movie. It’s deep and very emotional so emotional it’s been a month and I still cry thinking about It I can’t get it out of my head it effected more then any other movie ever has. I almost recommend not watching it because I cry thinking about this movie. See more Whitney C Sep 7 A film by pretentious people for pretentious people. Excruciatingly boring to watch to the point I don’t know how anyone finished it. I got to five minutes of pie eating and that was my last straw. Not for people who watch movies to be entertained.
