Synopsis
Using home movies shot in Berlin between 1914 and 1938, Ella Lewenz, a wealthy Jewish woman, documents the arc of her life from carefree affluence to the dark implications of the burgeoning Third Reich, capturing images of Albert Einstein, Walter Gropius and Josef Goebbels along the way. Using narration from Ella's diary and newly shot footage, her granddaughter, Lisa Lewenz, creates a moving documentary that gives voice to a first-person account of one of the 20th century's darkest chapters.
