Part high-altitude adventure movie, part kidnapping caper film, "A Lonely Place to Die" is more exciting than smart, though that's not the worst thing you can say about a movie. Go to Full Review

This is a pretty neat thriller, and it could well take the Gilbey brothers to Hollywood. Go to Full Review

By splitting the survivor horror elements with the "being hunted in the wilderness" elements, neither component is ever executed to its full potential. Go to Full Review

...the script had an authentic feel throughout. Even as twists and turns developed, the heart and logic of the thriller remained intact. Go to Full Review

Admittedly, this isn't the greatest premise in the world, but with a good script and assured direction, greatness was still reachable. Unfortunately for everyone concerned, A Lonely Place to Die has neither. Go to Full Review

Gerald H Jul 26 Meh. The permanent but senseless slow motion scenes make it difficult to stay focused. See more Joseph I Jun 18 Doesn't deserve any of the high praise it's getting, it had a good start. SPOILERS AHEAD: Was supposed to be a horror film. If they had made any other choice for plot direction it would have worked. Instead right after the best part it becomes a weak wannabe cliff hanger, with a pathetic little worm, and a chunky doughy moron that couldn't climb an escalator let alone be out climbing and navigating the Scottish Highlands better and faster than experienced climbers that have been going up there for years. Not to mention the pile of bodies they leave in their wake, guess there aren't any police in Scotland anymore. The famous Scotland Yard must be filled with incompetent Yahoo's if Laurel and Hardy with sniper rifles just run amok whenever they want, as it is made abundantly clear they have done this many times. See more Hei Det E Jan 30 It's like a pizza with pineapples - Either you like it, or you don't. You could argue that pineapples are to be enjoyed separately from pizza - but if you're anything like me, you despise pineapples and utterly worship pizza. As for what parts of this movie constitutes of pineapple I'll leave to your imagination - but it's safe to say I craved more pizza, in the end. See more 03/25/2024 a pretty cool suspense thriller part ransom, part kidnap movie set in a foreign nation Melissa George does a pretty damn good job but her accent is just damn awful, I don't know even why they tried that approach there's a lot of nail-biting suspense in this movie revoling around a little girl found in the ground in the woods as it turns out she's part of a bigger conspiracy than our main characters thought for some reason the movie at one point decides to take a break and it's pretty damn uninteresting plus you really didn't need all these side-characters like the cops the Scotland landscape also succeeds at being beautiful to look at and pretty dangerous at the same time most of the main protagonists get the axe pretty quick and the whole thing becomes a chase-flick from there I do admire the performances mainly from George since she pretty much gets a ton of dramatic roles these days not a horror flick per se, but an intense crime film that shocks the viewer pretty strongly See more Cristian s 08/12/2023 Esperaba nada y la verdad que cumplió. Historia con buen ritmo y algún buen giro argumental. Alguna discrepancia pero para ser una película de bajo presupuesto está bastante bien. See more Susan W 02/08/2023 Excellent, gripping movie. We both enjoyed it. Not much more I can say. See more Read all reviews
