JAVED A Very emotional film.sbout loss.and.family Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/25/23 Full Review Audience Member First hook is the camaraderie of 2 friends; then the overhanging tragic death; and finally some pretty scenery. But it's all downhill from there. The plotlines are all over the place with poor editing and continuity issues. The dialogue is stilted with what is possibly the worst Oh-Please-Save-Our-Quaint-Town speech ever written. In fact, the script should be an example of how NOT to write in a Writing 101 class. The actors are adequate even if Casting hired an aging, paunchy actor to play the teen hero's brother who STILL LIVES AT HOME and looks old enough to play a parent. As another reviewer wrote, we kept wondering why we continued watching. Poor, very poor, "Field of Dreams" wannabe. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This is on par with the worst movies ever. Disjointed, poor acting, ridiculous plot. It's so bad we just may make this a yearly tradition. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Very disappointing. The plot line jumps all over the place. First it's about a boy who lost his best friend and discovers a magical hockey rink, then it is about his lost father and whether or not his mother ran him off, then it's about stopping a plan to develop land around the lake. There's no clear explanation for anything and no continuity to the story. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Take Jack Frost with Michael Keaton, The Mighty Ducks, Ghost, and Field of Dreams and put them in a blender and you end up with this mess of a film. While not meant to be a comedy, the plot lines were so absurd that my wife and I laughed out loud several times. To be honest, the only reason we finished the movie was to see what ridiculous thing was going to happen next. On a high note, the acting was bearable and the scenery was beautiful.
