A Moment For Love is an outrageous, campy delight that revels in its own eccentricity. This offbeat comedy, destined for cult classic status, follows a flamboyant singer-songwriter who stumbles into the vibrant world of a fashion designer and his magical, chosen family.
The film wears its heart on its sequined sleeve, embracing themes of acceptance, reinvention, and the joy of found family. What it lacks in subtlety, it more than makes up for in bold stylistic choices, outrageous costumes, and a soundtrack that’s equal parts glam, disco, and pure glitter-fueled joy.
While the plot veers into the absurd, that’s part of the charm. The over-the-top performances, melodramatic dialogue, and surreal sequences blur the line between satire and sincerity. It’s a film that knows exactly what it is—and doesn’t apologize for it.
If you’re looking for realism, this isn’t it. But if you want a heartfelt, high-camp journey through sequins, self-discovery, and show-stopping musical numbers, A Moment For Love delivers an unforgettable ride.

This movie was suggested as a moment to try something different and enter a fascinating and colorful world, completely foreign to me. The movie revolves around Bobby Love, an eccentric fashion designer who lives in a castle in L.A. and the people who are drawn to him.
At first, I felt out of my comfort zone but as I watched, the calming force for me and I think the center of the story is Bobby himself. Beneath the glamour, posh, and outlandish outfits is a simple man of love. Quite fitting.
I liked the story because of this. The writer never strayed from the central theme of loving and caring for each other.
The story gives an example of how we can change our perspective. In the beginning, the outfits were too outlandish, headwear over the top and simply too much for me. By the end of the movie, I was admiring a headdress Bobby was wearing that depicted a man rowing a gondola in Venice, Italy. Flashy yet perfectly fit.
I rooted for the happy ending and rewarded. Definitely worth a watch.

As someone who grew up in the rural south, I don't have much background in high fashion, "Haute Couture." A Moment for Love gave me an insight into this world, the sometimes petty jealousies, the runway pressures, and the artistic friendships. Most of all, the friendships, which triumph over the jealousies. This movie must have been very fun to make. It is visually stunning, not only the wardrobe, but the locations, with a magically castle overlooking LA and locations that include Venice. Bobby is the anchor but the friends that surround him give the movie its heart. I particularly loved the woman who played the contortionist as she brought an infectious joy to ever scene.

Gorgeous cinematography and a lovely, immersive sound mix are the gateways into this indie gem, with stunning costume design and a lush look. It's a campy delight with a sincerity and sweetness at its core, driven by some really nice performances all round. There's a message in here too, in amongst the silly jokes and spectacular wardrobe choices, about following your dreams and staying true to your path despite the obstacles that you might encounter. There's even the odd creepy moment thrown in, meaning there's really something for everyone here. Some beautiful framing choices add to the sense of this being a self-contained world, existing alongside our own and maybe just a wish away, bringing to mind early Tim Burton mixed with a whole boat load of glitz and glamour. There's some lovely music along the way, too. Bravo.
