david l A New Day in Old Sana'a is an important film as it portrays a never-before seen region of the world. Its glimpse at the city of Sana'a in all of its intrigue was its finest aspect. However, the plot is only serviceable and the director's insistence to narrate the most obvious plot points and emotions was downright ridiculous and it hurt what would have otherwise been a much more impactful feature. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member if it wasn't for that awful voice of the narrator I would have liked it much more... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member The voice-over and the male protagonist was awful. Some good elements were lost in it... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member This is an Arab Delta Dawn story. The setting was a very exotic Sana'a. Some of the shots of Sana'a alone make the movie worth watching. There is nothing profound or exciting about the story, but the story did a great job of illustrating both how all people are the same and how culture can make for very different attitudes and dilemmas and solutions to dilemmas. This movie is worth watching if for no other reason than that it humanizes Arabs. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Not very good acting. Furthermore, it doesn't describe the real situation in the old city of Sana'a. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member not bad...considering that its the first yemeni movie Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
