A Normal Woman (2025) is marketed as a horror film, but it delivers neither fear nor tension. Released on Netflix as a foreign-language title, the film quickly derails thanks to a number of frustrating missteps—starting with the atrocious dubbing. The voiceover work is so poor it completely breaks any immersion and makes it difficult to take the story seriously. What was meant to be a chilling experience instead feels like an unfocused, chaotic mess. The direction is erratic, the pacing is off, and the narrative never seems to find its footing. Rather than suspense or atmosphere, the film offers confusion—and not in a thought-provoking way. It’s all buildup with no payoff. The only glimmer of credibility comes from the father character, who shows some genuine emotion and presence on screen. However, even his performance is undercut by bizarre writing choices—such as standing idly while his wife vomits blood, in what should’ve been a high-stakes moment. It’s emblematic of the film’s overall failure to build believable characters or evoke any real emotion. Ultimately, A Normal Woman feels like a complete waste of time. Unless you’re absolutely desperate for something to watch, skip this one. There are far better horror films out there—this one simply doesn’t deliver.

Extremely bad movie, boring, convoluted story with a disappointing revelation that happens when too soon. The whole plot is revealed an hour in, but for some reason they decided to waste an extra hour of the viewer's time. As always with Netflix, the English dubbing is abysmal too.

I’m not sure this was suppose to be a dark comedy or if the director and I both missed the plot. A very weird tale of envious friends and a toxic mother in law. However it effectively shows society’s shallow view on women.
