Racconto che naviga tra commedia e dramma e lo fa senza mai eccedere in nessuna delle due caratteristiche. Benicio del Toro e Tim Robbins formano una coppia di eroi molto contemporanei, ed in generale i rapporti tra tutti i personaggi non sono particolarmente nitidi e definiti, esattamente come quelli che intrattengono con la popolazione locale. Molto interessante proprio l'equilibrio ed il continuo passaggio tra dialoghi e sequenze leggere e simpatiche a veri e propri schiaffi che ti riportano alla situazione disperata di un paese sul finire di una guerra. Vengono appositamente evitate grandi sequenze di azione ed il film rimane sempre fedele al suo titolo; un giorno (o poco più) di ordinaria follia. Peccato invece non aver approfondito a sufficienza il tema politico legato agli enti umanitari, che forse era meglio evitare del tutto piuttosto che abbozzare cosi velocemente.

A perfect day is an interesting little film. The story may not be the most original and there’s clichés but the film has excellent performances that are worth watching. The movie has a good message although the extent of it is not fully explored. Cinematography was also well done. It’s not the most involved film I’ve ever seen but it’s a good indie film with a good message and good performances with just a few slow spots.

Two stars because I watched the whole thing. Otherwise much ado about nothing. War is bad, devastation, beautiful country but everyone blowing each other up and generally behaving badly. Nothing new is added here. Benicio has a wig. Tim plays himself as usual. The locals are smart and everyone else is dumb. Pointless in the end.
