The humorous, harsh, and movingly human coming-of-age tale of two 12 year-old boys. Romeo Brass and Gavin "Knocks" Woolley, an unlikely pair of best friends: Romeo is husky and tough, while Knocks is an inquisitive kid with a bad back. Neighbors in a Midland housing estate, neither boy has an ideal home life: Romeo's father is angry and estranged, while Knocks can't communicate with his remote, couch-potato dad. The boys' shared sense of humor and high spirits bond and strengthen them.

The story follows two young boys( Romeo and Gavin) in working class England. The two boys meet Morell- an eccentric man who quickly becomes infatuated with Romeos sister and decide to help him out. The humour in this film is impeccable. The dynamic between Romeo and Gavin is hilarious and other characters provide great comedic relief. Paddy Considine does an incredible job of playing the complicated character that is Morell. Aside from being funny the film does a great job of portraying the different issues affecting the young boys and gives a great snapshot into the lives of people in working class England at the time. I thought that the soundtrack was great and fitted the film well. The ending was great and hugely satisfying. Overall this film was fantastic and I would definetly recommend!
