This is the story of an extraordinary man, surgeon, and human, who unwaveringly puts his life on the line to save lives. After 43 days of horror, working round the clock and under constant bombardment in the emergency rooms of Gaza's Al-Shifa and Al-Ahli hospitals, Dr. Ghassan Abu Sittah, a British-Palestinian reconstructive surgeon, emerged to find himself as a face of Palestinian resistance, hailed as a hero everywhere he goes. Normally Ghassan lives a comfortable life in London, with a Harley Street clinic and research affiliations at top universities. Yet, with each outbreak of war against his homeland in Gaza, he drops everything and rushes to where he is needed. With the full support of his wife Dima, and his three sons, he has already participated as an emergency surgeon during five Israeli wars against Gaza, as well as in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen. The film follows him to Amman from the moment he emerged shell-shocked from Gaza, and then to Beirut, London, and Kuwait as he speaks and lobbies for an end to the genocide and for the reconstruction of the health system. This film delves into what makes Ghassan who he is, capturing the essence of the man who is greeted and feted everywhere he goes. Through his eyes, we witness the tragic story of Gaza's most recent genocide and the notions of being Palestinian and of heroism are questioned. Ghassan, who rejects the label, sees his actions as nothing more nor less than a response to his passion for his country and Justice.
