Ronak Kotecha The Times of India It’s heartening to see that movies from Africa are making their way to mainstream platforms like Netflix and this one may not be the best that they have to offer, it certainly does underline the industry’s immense potential. Rated: 3/5 Mar 7, 2023 Full Review Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media But the deficits -- a lack of believable, likable characters and a plausible story -- are overwhelming and squash the enterprise to a mushy pulp. Rated: 2/5 Mar 1, 2023 Full Review John Serba Decider A Sunday Affair is a decent technical achievement, and its lead performances are good, but that threadbare love-triangle story is lukewarm at best. Feb 28, 2023 Full Review Amanda Guarragi Ready Steady Cut This film has a strong female friendship and shows all the obstacles these women face together, even when a man gets in the way. Rated: 3/5 Feb 15, 2023 Full Review Jason Flatt But Why Tho? A Geek Community A Sunday Affair is a messy movie...It’s basically two completely different movies in one, with a heck of a lot of chaos in the first half and a massive shift in tone...in the second. Neither is especially good or bad...the movie is as fine as it gets. Rated: 5/10 Feb 15, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

lilly s the graphics looked great and caught my eye however, following the trailer I concluded, this script won't make sense. the story appeared flat, really not strong - yes I got this from the trailer. Fast forward 12months, a friend convinced me to watch it, BIG mistake. The entire script is what I would call of a surface approach, no bother for it to be analytical, to delve deeper into what potentially could have been very interesting, instead we were served about 90mins of a predictive story, fantasy, mills&boon type story. No depth to how a fully grown man who literally came out of a marriage with a child would proceed to have physical relations and then fall in love with 2 grown women. The premise could have been better, some development and background to indicate why he was so ready to walk out of a commitment, and jump into another one. Two grown women and a grown man who, so quickly are able to fall in love with no background into the characters or relationship development, I know older teens who apply more responsible criticism prior to labelling a relationship. And then we have a woman with stage 2 cancer progressing so well into a final pregnancy trimester, no change to her physical self... etc. etc.. I hardly ever leave reviews, maybe 1 every few years but this was that bad. I was that pained by the waste of raw talent and loss of potential that I was moved to write a review. I'm gutted, I am a fan of the main characters, of Mo Abudu, and I'm just disappointed. Not for me, and perhaps, not for those who care for a decent story lines. Next time, I'll stick to my instincts. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/30/23 Full Review L. L I really enjoyed this movie. It embodied true friendship and sacrifice. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/08/23 Full Review Natasha Z I loved it! Strong independent women. No judgements, women don't tell all of their secrets. May be a true story! Yess for my best friend would do anything for her in a heartbeat. Under their circumstances it worked out for them. I laughed, dance, and cried. I cried because I see how we make mistakes when the heart gets involved. Definitely not everyone will like the verbal abuse she endured, what a horrible man, I understand he gave because he wanted something in return, wow that made me cry it was hard to watch, I felt anger and horror at how cruel some women are in the shower scene, the judgment, its her life she cchose that path. We can clearly see their mistakes I pray it's a learning experience for all who watches this movie. Try to be the better person for someone else. The actors and actresses were great. It would be lovely to see a second version with ex wife and the children how things with the family. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Adeola O One of the most stupid movies I have ever watched. The script is very weak contextually, and I was expecting better. I was thoroughly bored. That was 1hour and 36 minutes that I will never get back. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review JJ A In one word - chaotic. Good cameras and lighting, but a terrible script that presented a bunch of main characters all of whom were despicable and had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. All three leads were cheaters with no regard for anybody and then throw in a villainous ‘sugar daddy' who is just there for sex and nothing more and you have a foolish mishmash of a story that's not sure if it's a romantic comedy or grim unrealistic drama. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review NIK B I liked it enough to want to watch until the end because I really wanted to see how it would end. I really wish it had ended that way. A little bit self-sacrificing, I must say. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
