Dave Chappelle asked for a Bell's Beer during a comedy set in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Taking a sip, he casually called out, "The Two-Hearted Ale? Why the hell did you put a fish on the label?" This is the story of that label and its eccentric artist, Ladislav Hanka.

Victoria Luxford D Movies As pleasant as sitting in a fishing boat with a cold beer, A Two Hearted Tale is the sort of localised story that won’t be available to directors in the years to come. Then again, in a film that yearns for the way things were, that’s part of the charm Rated: 4/5 Jul 1, 2024 Full Review Ronak Kotecha ReviewRon The film’s substance is adequate to sustain attention and the placing of some monologue over the varied cinematography is effective Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 27, 2024 Full Review Ethan Padgett Film Threat A Two Hearted Tale is highly recommended and will inspire you to create your own individual brand. David F This is a great documentary about the artist who makes labels for Bell’s Brewery, including the trout art that appears on the Two Hearted Ale beer bottle. I didn’t know it was a reference to John Voelker, the author of Trout Madness and Anatomy of a Murder, but this documentary gives the whole story behind it. A great portrait of an artist and a demystifying account of a unique brand, product, and advertisement. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/17/24 Full Review Read all reviews
