kay c This is a horrendous movie. The male lead role is as wooden as a post. Where did they find him!? I’ve watched some bad chick flick movies but, this is the worst. See if you think THIS movie is so God awful bad..... You haven't been through the last 10 yrs. Of Hallmark, Lifetime, and now GAF Crap Shooters !!! One reviewer got one thing right. This is how an American tries to wrap their heads around a trading English Christmas. Now if you know anything about anything, you know that it's mostly made up except for the beautiful scenery..... And YES .... Just for the sake of the movie I want to see a Steam engine pull the train, just like in Harry Potter .... !!! Im 70 yrs. Old east American .... The Actresses American accent was Spot on ... ! One or two giveaways here or there... I LIKE THE BIG TOUGH GUY being soft and emotional . It was an unusual casting mix. The little girl was a bit precocious , but totally lovable, and her calling the lead Sweety back to her was a freaking Joke people ....On purpose ! The dumb writing flaws of making the lead an Opera Singer of all things, when it has nothing to do with anything is just Stupid .... A writer, artist, poet, hairdresser has an ounce of believability. At least she wasn't another Lawyer, or CEO like the American stuff ... Look , it's a British feel good Christmas Piece, let's knock off burying it for that reason ! This was not a brilliant Christmas movie. This was not a brilliant movie. This is a very poorly acted movie. The American accents were embarrassingly bad! Even the one actor who was actually american had a bad american accent! Rachel Shenton needed a lot more training as her accent kept slipping & you could hear her british accent coming through. I don't know who the guy was that played her agent but can someone please let him know that he should NEVER play an American ever again! In fact he should never act again! And the child actor Katie should NEVER say the word 'sweetheart' again!! I wanted to launch my slippers at the tv every time she said it! And how come the soprano never sang a single note? Maybe it was lucky she never flew out to Vienna! I wanted to watch til the end as I'm not quitter but I just couldn't do it. I didn't care if they lost the lodge. I didn't care if Andrew got to be the world's greatest artist! I DIDN'T CARE!! The movie is 90 minutes long. 90 minutes too long! If you want to feel you've lost all reason to live & just need some background noise then play this movie! Yorkshire - you should be ashamed of yourselves! I forced myself to finish the whole movie as I didn't want to leave it unfinished. Extremely boring, just full of boring scene. The main character is portrayed as a well-known soprano singer but never sang in the movie. This movie is so worse that I decided to write my first review here.
