isla s This was pretty bland and generic, a Hallmark style sentimental film about someone trying to better themselves, to turn over a new leaf, yadda yadda. It seemed fairly cliched and didn't really keep my attention much but then I was surprised by a change in plot direction, which occured somewhat suddenly towards the last half hour or so of the film. I'm confused as to why it says online that this film features an 'all star cast', as I can't say I recognised the main actors but then I'm not American, so maybe I watch the wrong shows and thus don't recognise them(?). I don't know. It is a little thoughtful, mildly poignant towards the end too and so I suppose for that its not totally worth dismissing but its certainly not the sort of film I'd outright recommend as such, no. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Great movie about a guy that turns his life around by going from the total irresponsible screw-up to the mature man wanting to prove his love to his son and help all his screw-up friends. Great movie!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member The story runs on coincidences and perfect timing which allows characters to catch each other in dubious acts throughout the film. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Terrible movie. So depressing and you just keep hoping it will get better and it never really does. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm all about Greenberg, but this took some weird turns and had one too many stories to tell. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member I really enjoyed this movie, and in particular liked that it had a message that is, in my ways, the opposite of most movies in this genre. Also, loved how subtly it explored the lead's redemption from drinking without exposing however he did it. Kept that personal and allowed us to wonder if it was a 12 step, or through some other method. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter A moving tale of personal redemption is delivered with admirable subtlety and complexity in Stephen Suettinger's directorial debut. Dec 23, 2015 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com While redemption stories are a dime a dozen, it's not often that they're as satisfying as this richly human and honest one.
