Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Since everything about the film is substandard, Charles Laughton also seems to be taking a vacation from his usual, more esteemed works, despite reprising his role from 1945. Rated: 2/10 Aug 15, 2020 Full Review Kevin Carr 7M Pictures plays more like a long television show than a feature film, which gives it a level of energy and fun Rated: 3/5 Oct 14, 2013 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Combustible Celluloid Overall, the big production seems to keep the comedy team on their toes, and, while this never reaches the highs of their best films, it also feels a lot less lazy than their worst efforts. Apr 21, 2011 Full Review Phil Hall Organica News The only genuine point of interest is seeing Charles Laughton get his wish to play the buffoon. Rated: 2/5 Sep 10, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews

Denny S One of the two color films made for Warner Brothers in the 1950s (the other one was "Jack and the Beanstock"). While "Jack and the Beanstock" was made for children, this film at least tries to play to adults. The exchanges between Costello and Laughton make the film worth seeing once, as Laughton shows his ability to play low comedy pretty well. Like "Jack", this film fell into public domain, so there are poorly transferred copies around. Look for the official Warners release. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/20/24 Full Review steve d Fun but unremarkable. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Typical fare for the duo enlivened by Laughton. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Musical comedy hijinks on the high seas aboard the dingy-est pirate ship ever. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member THE ONLY "FULL"COLOR MOVIE THE TEAM MADE, YET BY THE FIFTY`S BUD`S TIMING BEGAIN SLIPPING ;IF ONLY THIS FILM WERE MADE EARLIER ! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Lackluster comedy in an inferior Laurel & Hardy way. It's also a sad outing for Charles Laughton in what is a woeful role for him, but I'm sure he had fun making this slapstick. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews
