StephenPaul C LOL, the funniest 01 hour: and 17 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/10/23 Full Review Chris M One of their best films. It's a very funny and well written. But horror comedy needs to be a balance between horror and comedy. "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" had the balance perfectly. This one leans harder on comedy. Which still makes it good. But the balance is a tad off. Plus the Hyde make up is pretty week. But it's still a great movie worth checking out. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/04/23 Full Review Tim N Probably the weakest in the Abbott and Costello monster movies, but still worth a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/28/22 Full Review Audience Member This 1953 horror comedy is not terrible, but at the same time it's not all that good. The legendary Bud Abbot and Lou Costello do their best in this film as they usually do. As always they have great chemistry on screen. Bud Abbot's clever jokes and one liners help carry this movie. The late Boris Karloff is terrific as usual. The supporting cast is good. Not terrific, but good. While I was not bored by this movie I just think it was rather dull at times. Also, it's basic plot is very predictable. Bud and Lou tell their superiors in the London police force that they know Dr. Henry Jekyll is also the mysterious "monster" killing innocent people. At first nobody believes them and they are laughed at and insulted. Then something happens which proves they were right all along and they are vindicated. Nothing we have not seen before. if you are a fan of the classic comedy team I recommend you see it. However they have done better in this horror comedy genre, specifically "Hold That Ghost" which I think is a much better film. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review steve d Not one of the best in the series but still a blast. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I had an hour and a half to kill this morning in the packed house urgent care. Decided it was a good time to to watch this movie. Not that funny. Typical early 50s bad mandatory singing and dancing. Lots of slapstick. Karloff is good. The movie is with seeing for him and the make-up sfx.
