Victor O I decided to increase the number of movies I've seen with Christopher Reeve that weren't Superman-related. This sounded interesting given the subject matter was Reeve playing a man who was paralyzed, before he was. So, I appreciated the irony. Dempsey Cain is a decorated police officer living the good life in Southern California working alongside his brother Nick, with a beautiful wife Gail and son Damon. Unfortunately, not everything is as good as it seems with Nick and Gail having an affair. Things become worse when Dempsey is shot and paralyzed from the waist down. Life becomes hard on everyone with Dempsey contemplating suicide. But it becomes darker when a seeming act of compassion transforms into murder. The Cains are investigated by a rival of Dempsey, all of it leading to a controversial end. I have always admired Christopher Reeve's charisma as Superman, but this film shows that he was more than just the hero in a cape but a spectacular actor. But he should have done better stuff. But this was a good turn and am glad to have seen it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Alot better than I expected. It has a nice twist to it, that I assume that MOST people wouldn't see coming. But regardless, it's still a rather good movie.
