After receiving his latest college rejection letter, senior Bartleby Gaines devises a novel way to fool everyone into thinking he is college-bound: Open his own university. Bartleby and his similarly stymied friends take over an abandoned building, create a fake website, hire a friend's uncle to pose as the dean, and -- presto -- a school is born. However, they do their jobs too well, and soon many other rejects try to gain admittance to the nonexistent South Harmon Institute of Technology.

Marco L @decatur555 6d Accepted is a light comedy that knows exactly what it wants to be: a simple way to pass the time. The premise is fun and carries some satirical potential, but the film mostly takes the easy route, relying on quick jokes, absurd situations, and a consistently playful tone. The first part works better, with decent pacing and a few gags that land, but the story eventually stretches beyond its material and starts to feel repetitive. Humor is uneven, often obvious, and clearly aimed at a specific audience. Characters are more functional than developed, and while the film hints at a critique of the education system and academic pressure, it never digs very deep. Still, if you’re on its wavelength, it can deliver a few easy laughs. Not memorable or ambitious, but an acceptable, harmless watch. See more Arne D Jan 6 This movie made me really happy.
