Carlos Aguilar Los Angeles Times Subtly moving, "Adam" is a beautiful expression of untainted sorority. Mar 6, 2021 Full Review Ben Kenigsberg New York Times Certain stylistic choices - a muted palette, the absence of a melodramatic score, hand-held camerawork - help temper sentimentality with verisimilitude. Mar 4, 2021 Full Review Jake Wilson The Age (Australia) Despite the familiarity of the premise, there is something instantly appealing about Adam -- and about Touzani's style, which is plain without being artless. Rated: 3/5 Sep 9, 2020 Full Review Erick Estrada Cinegarage The purpose of this rattling naturalism that brings fore two worlds in painful resistance, is to point out our inaction and our indifference at the normalization of this type of abuse. [Full review in Spanish] Jun 1, 2022 Full Review Joseph Fahim Middle East Eye The colourful setting of the working-class neighbourhood is also never fully brought out. It's a straightforward approach that, while it does not divert attention from the characters, ultimately feels dull. Jul 3, 2021 Full Review Dennis Harvey 48 Hills Awfully low-key, to a degree that undercuts its final emotional impact. Viryabodhi S This was a very beautiful and deliciously slow film. Understated and very human. I like the way the camera moves, handheld and close and intimate. Deeply tragic and also deeply human and good. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/20/23 Full Review david l Adam is a Moroccan drama that benefits from a beautiful bond that develops between its two female protagonists. It's a feminist slice-of-life tale that is very cozy and charming, but it lacked any more meaningful or more dramatic narrative arc, thus limiting its scope significantly. It is very endearing, but also rather leisurely paced and never quite garnering any momentum. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
