      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Admission has a pair of immensely likable leads in Tina Fey and Paul Rudd, but it wastes them on a contrived (and clumsily directed) screenplay.

Dana H This was one of the flattest, most go-nowhere, boring movies I ever saw. More proof that big actors have bills that need to be paid! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/17/23 Full Review Qasim R Movie is not that bad.I personally liked it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/21/23 Full Review StephenPaul C LOL, the funniest 01 hour: and 57 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Starring Tina Fey, and Paul Rudd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated PG-13 for Some Sexual Material, and Language!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/15/23 Full Review Valetrix In my opinion admission is a very bad comedy and a soft drama, it has the worst of both worlds, Fey and Rudd has no chemistry at all.The character of Rudd is the villain of the movie: 1) he Illusions the character of Nat Wolf with a Princeton admission. 2) he manipulates Fey to make her believe that Nat is her son, making her feeling guilty, forcing a crazy and not dicerving college admition. 3) he doesn't take in account his own son opinion about traveling around the world, because he want live a life of adventures, but his son would like to have a conventional lifestyle. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/06/23 Full Review Andrew D Excellent and well balanced. Feel good easy watch with enough drama and small twists to keep you hooked. Casting 5/5 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review m o Typical feel good movie, but shows how important is to choose with your heart and not to be so judgmental with everyone Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Anna Smith metro.co.uk Portia is in many ways a typical [Tina] Fey character but the unfunny and clichéd script too often reminds us this is no 30 Rock. Rated: 2/5 Sep 5, 2017 Full Review Jason Bailey Flavorwire It is neither a broad comedy nor a dopey rom-com; it's actually, surprisingly enough, a seriocomic drama in something resembling the Alexander Payne mold, a slightly eccentric examination of flawed people doing their very best. Jun 21, 2016 Full Review Wesley Morris Grantland At the heart of the problem with this movie are matters of logic and cogency. Jan 3, 2014 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com If Admission had become an edgier film, I have a strange feeling that we'd be watching yet another really great Tina Fey comedy. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 1, 2020 Full Review Brian D. Johnson Maclean's Magazine Despite the formulaic structure-every character is a type, paired off with his or her textbook opposite-there's a whiff of inside-baseball realism to the its detailed portrait of the university admissions process... Aug 14, 2019 Full Review Allen Adams The Maine Edge Admission has some funny moments and it has some poignant moments. Unfortunately, the film never seems quite able to determine what its focus should be. This results in a movie that never quite clicks. Rated: 2/5 Feb 20, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
