Enrolled at an all-girls school, Dinah Sheldon (Shirley Temple), an artistically inclined and progressive-minded young woman, embraces the cause of women's rights. Unfortunately, Dinah's father, Andrew (Robert Young), an old-fashioned preacher, isn't initially too keen on the concept -- and her boyfriend, Tom Wade (John Agar), is even more confounded. Eventually, Dinah's dad begins to see her point of view, but will his support for women's suffrage alienate his devoted parishioners?
