Danielle Solzman Solzy at the Movies Even though the film was a return to form for Errol Flynn, Adventures of Don Juan marked the end of an era for both the actor and Warner Bros. Rated: 4/5 Mar 13, 2023 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Adventures of Don Juan allowed an older Errol Flynn to swash with buckler in hand one final time for Warner Bros. Rated: 3/4 Jul 23, 2022 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Though not as exciting as Robin Hood and other Flynn swashbuckling adventures, Vincent Sherman's version still boasts high production values, particularly lush cinematography and art direction, stirring Max Steiner score, and good stuntwork. Mark A Tyrone Power in another swashbuckler. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/20/22 Full Review Audience Member The best movie score ever composed! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Overstuffed preposterousness with Errol just beginning to fray around the edges is still a feast for the eyes. Ultra lush production values with eye popping costumes, baroque set pieces, the ever reliable Warners stock company and of course a sword fight or two. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review s r A run of the mill Flynn flick. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member These 1930-40 period pieces are hugely entertaining!! There was just one issue I had with this film. It wasn't that Errol Flynn was kind of past his prime, OR even that Vivecia Lindfors' accent was horrifically distracting. No. It was that 24 hours after watching Flynn's performance in The Adventures of Robin Hood, I saw the same "night" footage used in this as in Robin Hood. I couldn't believe it. I know film was and is expensive, but really? Poor Vincent Sherman, poor. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Starring the great Errol Flynn (who else?), with his usual sidekick, Alan Hale, and Vivica Lindfors. A clever, witty, entertaining drama in which Flynn saves the queen from an evil would-be usurper. At the end of the movie, his latest very young real life lover has a cameo, and then comes the great ending line. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
