Eliza Fraser (Susannah York) sets off to Australia from Great Britain with her much older husband, Capt. Fraser (Noel Ferrier). During her travels, Eliza juggles various extramarital trysts, plus flirtations with a convict (John Waters) and a cheeky sea captain (John Castle) on her ship. The real adventure, however, commences when she and her husband are greeted by a group of Aboriginal Australians when they escape an attack, and find that they're not as threatening as they'd anticipated.
