Audience Member It was hard to decide what was worse - the acting or the writing - but they were both equally horrible. We wanted to like this movie - but instead played a game were the first one who laughed (at the horror of the writing or acting) got a point. When someone got 10 points - the game was over and the person with the lowest score won. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Cute film! Lots of humor. Endearing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member This film is super cute and a nice film parents can watch with their kids. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member It IS hoaky and it IS saccharine (to a fault) but for a family film directed primarily for 8-12 yr old girs, it's a sweet little film. A young girl who's mother passed away is being raised with her two older brothers by her widower father (Keith Carradine), until he decides to send her away to live with his "spinster" sister (Mare Winningham). Think Hallmark and add even more sugar to it. Sweet Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member PETER WROTE: "Watching tonight Tues Apr-07-2009 on DVD from library, looks like a cute coming-of-age film, my fave kind of "feel good Family movie"... YUP was cute 4 of 5 stars for being too gooey at times, tomboy themes are fun and heroine scene makes your eyes tear up." Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a very cute movie, and my kids loved it. I enjoyed it, too, but the beginning was sort of slow. Wouldn't win any awards, but it's a pleasant family film to watch (just be sure to explain to your kids that white lies are NOT ok).
