Audience Member This is basically what you'd get if you took Escape from New York, Children of Men and Road Warrior and threw them into a cheap, Italian knockoff blender. Being what it is, it's loads more fun than it has any right to be, the ape people are a nice touch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/21 Full Review dave j The theme is similar to the much higher budgeted of "Children of Men" which centers on the aftermath of a nuclear apocalypse resulting to less fertilization. Two warring factions of the "Euraks" and "the Rebel Federation" with the "Pan American Confederacy" hiring Parsifal (Michael Sopkiw) escorting with him are Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Spaghetti trash version of Escape From New York with hints of The Road Warrior and Hell Comes to Frogtown. '80s gem. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Revisited this post-apocalypse flick the other day as part of a boxset and it holds up as well as expected from films of this cycle, where it's set in the far-flung future and still manages to feel very much of the '80s, as the budget only allows them so much wiggle-room. This also sports elements of Escape From New York in that you've got desperate characters trying to get out of the city and fighting their way past all manner of gangs and creatures to do so. Worth a rental for sure. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Out of all the post-apocalyptia that came about in the wake of Mad Max and Escape from New York, 2019 is certainly one of them... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Charming silly dystopian 80's B-movie fun, that actually turned out pretty good...you know, for being so bad. Kind of a Mad Max meets Children of Men meets Escape From New York. I enjoyed it, laughed at bad writing, liked sets and models, and found myself interested in the story. A good bad movie.
