What to Know

Critics Consensus

After the Hunt doesn't lack for fine performances, especially from a standout Julia Roberts, but its coy followthrough on incendiary themes makes for an uncharacteristically toothless provocation from director Luca Guadagnino.

Wendy Ide Observer (UK) It has a combative, showy kind of intelligence and is not particularly likable. And it is perhaps not always as smart as it thinks it is. That said, there is a savagery to the storytelling that is bracing. MONA A Slow, boring, no story Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/21/25 Full Review Melissa S The movie was long and slow. Visually it was dark and the background music in the movie was so loud, the dialogue couldnt be heard at times. Overall, it was strange. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/21/25 Full Review PaPaRu How a lie can destroy even cause a death. Every character had no appeal the educated elite and the rich privileged kids who attend the elite universities turned my stomach. To think so many of out country leadership comes out of these institutions makes me realize why we’re in such trouble in this country. They are so out of touch with society as a whole. But the worst thing about this movie was the soundtrack. I almost left after 45 minutes because I couldn’t stand the music but I like Julia Roberts so I endured it. Save your money especially if you’re a man. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/21/25 Full Review Toni Storyline was difficult to follow.
