At its best this film is brave, cool and brimful of ideas, and if they're barely contained within the slightly flimsy story, that's down to Campos' decision to give himself the safety net of a well-worn genre. Go to Full Review
Andrew O'Hehir Salon.com 10/09/2009
It's both a supremely controlled exercise in form and tone and an intriguing exploration of the ways new technology intersects with age-old questions of dominance, control and individuality, particularly in the school setting. Go to Full Review

Anthony Campos (who was 24 when he made this jolting pic) captures the numbing psychic scramble that just might cause the YouTube generation to go morally haywire. Or become filmmakers. Go to Full Review

Richard P 01/18/2024 Waste of time. Horrible director See more 12/27/2020 Afterschool was two wasted hours that I'll never get back. If you feel it dragging, stop now!! It doesn't get better! There is no a haha moment, no car crash just the fade in a WTF was that. See more 08/21/2020 Apparantly dialogue isn't in this filmmakers repertoire. ALL of the characters are depressed, unable to even speak... at all. So much silence and long pauses with nothing going on. This movie is just awful. Not clever, not interesting,... it truly is a "nothing" movie. See more 08/18/2020 This kid is a serial killer in the making. How he sat there and watched and suffocated the one twin that died in his arms. He appeared to have no sympathy nor feeling for those girls. In the end, someone was filming him as he stared at those pictures. Probably a "trophy" for him. He seriously needs to be watched.
