Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Agatha and the Truth of Murder is an enjoyable cinematic feast for Christie fans. Rated: 3.0/4.0 Aug 30, 2020 Full Review Andrea Beach Common Sense Media Enjoyable murder mystery has some blood and strong language. Rated: 3/5 Apr 14, 2020 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film It doesn't have anything of great import to communicate and it won't provide the same thrills as a blockbuster, but it's a smart, well made little film which is much more satisfying to watch than its humble origins and restricted format might suggest. geoff a Oh my that was awful. A poor attempt at an imitation of an Agatha Christie plot. It really didn't work. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Agatha Christie fans will greatly enjoy! Wonderful performances, Art Direction, costumes, and direction. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Although the photography and quality level of some other BBC productions is maintained, the film is greatly affected by the wrong choice for casting, and overacted characters that ends up leaving an impression of corny and commercial, and I am sure poirot-loving audience feeling almost insulted. I am not suggesting Ruth Bradley is bad actress, but probably under a bad director, her performance goes up and down, with an aggressive attitude followed by shyness, all throughout inconsistent, without creating a true character. All this under the worst choice of a manly wardrobe and warby-Parker glasses that feel odd and non-genuine. The only reason that made me watch it until the end was Bebe Cave, which for some strange reason wasn't portrayed in the cover along with the rest of the cast, despite the importance of her character (Daphne Miller). Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member There is a reason, that movie has no audience reviews, daa. Here, Agatha is an insecure, spoiled, annoying writer of mystery, who could make a depressed suicidial maniac look like the happiest person on earth. Why I give it 2 stars is another mystery.
