Mike P The film is a daughter's earnest attempt to try to understand her Father. He is a laconic man not given to open self-reflection about what motivated him to run a marathon a week. Is he just trying to impress others? Seeking fame in the record books? Unless you find film footage of a man running one marathon after another to be inspirational, watching this movie is a boring experience. Ultimately you're puzzled by it; you're left wondering if he's literally trying to "run away" from things in his life he's afraid to confront. Does that warrant praise? And, ovrrall, what is the value (if there is any) of someone running a marathon a week in relation to what is going on in the rest of the world?
