bobby jack b Age Out, re-affirms great film doesn't have to be expensive, preachy, cartoon-like CGI. If you don't know who the actress with the best "real name" in the business is, the answer is Imogen Poots. Check her out in Roadies, with Ron "Tater Salad" White. She is a master at understated performance as Joan in this film. Dark, exquisite photography, haunting, original sound effects and soundtrack. The composition of the individual shots and scene editing is just extraordinary. This film makes me wonder if Terrence Malick might have directed this under the pseudonym E. G. Edwards. This is a sleeper. Do yourself a favor and watch this late some night. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review tom m Another plodding story that seemed to meander about. I didn't care for it. John DeFore Hollywood Reporter An artful lament for unparented youth. Nov 22, 2019 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times Still, as with "The Better Angels," Edwards' new movie is magnificently impressionistic, with Colin Stetson's rhythmic score and Jeff Bierman's sun-dappled cinematography making Richie's life seem as wondrous as it is hard. Nov 21, 2019 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Emphasizing atmosphere over plot, Edwards shows a keen eye for framing and camera movement, and captures some powerful imagery. Nov 22, 2019 Full Review Jared Mobarak The Film Stage Utilizing the style he honed as Terrence Malick's editor and on his directorial debut The Better Angels, Edwards supplies Richie's inner turmoil through poetic imagery.
